Big Meadow trail to Dardenelles Lake-Hike
Saturday, July 10th 7:30 am - 3 pm
Join ARC volunteer Kay Osborn for this intermediate hike of 8 miles. The initial trail ascends up to Big Meadow Creek then opens up to a large grassy meadow (we're hoping for wildflowers). The trail then climbs a forested slope, with open patches of mule ears and sage. At the top, you'll enjoy views of a volcanic ridge in the west. The trail then descends as it passes 3 creeks, stands of willows & aspens, and ends in a short climb over granite to Dardanelles Lake. This beautiful, shallow lake is bordered by steep granite cliffs to the south. Fit 10+ welcome. Rain cancels. Suggested donation: $5/members, $10/non-members (meeting location: Placerville area). Sign-ups required. 530-621-1224 or julie@arconservancy.org.

Please leave dogs home during these ARC events.
